“THE BASICS FUKUOKA” is based on the concept of the INTELLECTUAL’S WORLD. The company hopes to provide a new experience and worldview that excites the heart and does not exist in existing hotels. For one, the lobby library contains approximately 5,000 books to get yourself lost in.
FJ Hotels Co., Ltd. will open “THE BASICS FUKUOKA The Basics Fukuoka” (room 238, East 2-chome, Hakata-eki, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City) on March 1, 2020.
The concept behind the hotel is to create a new hotel experience that will become the “Basics / Basics” of future hotels. A hotel with a novel, bold, and unconstrained aesthetic. 12 pillars at the circular lobby where a stairwell of about 42 meters in height stands, are 6 bookshelves that are about 8 meters in height containing 5,000 books. The books can be read freely in the guest room, lobby, restaurant, and any place you like.
When setting up the library, it was selected and supervised by the Editorial Engineering Co., Ltd. (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo). It houses books that express the delicate beauty and culture of the four seasons with the motif of “Hou”, as well as literary works, complete works, and photo books.
The design of the lobby, guest rooms, lounges, restaurants, etc. and the halls was consigned to creative director Ryu Kosaka. This space renews the image of the past by utilizing the distinctive design of the former hotel by Michael Graves, a master of postmodernism.
In the front lobby on the first floor, there is a dedicated lounge in the Episode or Story area that can only be used by guests.
In a calm interior, you can enjoy freeflowing coffee or alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine from Takamura Coffee Roasters (Nishi Ward, Osaka City), which is extremely popular in Osaka.
